House call

ביקור בית .jpeg

A three-episode documentary series follows individuals in Israel facing terminal illness who choose to end their lives at home rather than in a hospital. Supported by the funding of health funds, a home hospice team—consisting of a doctor, nurse, and social worker—assists them in parting from their current lives and transitioning to the next. Beyond physical support, the team also provides emotional assistance to the patients and those around them. Each team member has personal experience with death, having encountered it numerous times. They have chosen to dedicate their lives to death and hold a specific ideology regarding the proper way to approach it. Nevertheless, every home they enter brings a new story and a fresh set of challenges. Directed by David Afek and Netta Shoshani.

"In 'House Call,' which portrays three people in a hospice in their final days, there are no corners and no filters. In a country so accustomed to death, there is room for such a wonderful creation that presents the end we all fear as a natural thing that can be accepted even with a smile and tranquility," Aviad Kedron, Walla, 2016.
